Babe, being a mother was never on my bingo card. But then a few years ago I had a kid in a birthing tub and it turns out he’s pretty cool. Now one thing about me I go big or go home, so in typical Ja’Nelle fashion I threw myself full force into motherhood…and utterly lost who I was in the process. But we thank God for sisters who gently call you out, and hold a mirror up to your face to see the reflection of someone you don’t even recognize. I saw a 50-year-old woman trapped in a 20-something's body, motherhood was aging me and changing me in a way I hated. I realized I needed to rediscover who I was as a woman first. This is where I am now—in a space of transformation. I’m learning to reclaim my identity, embracing my growth journey, and focusing on being the woman I was always meant to be.

This place, The Tent, is an extension of that journey. Here stories of struggle, triumph, and discovery are housed. So if you’re a woman who happens to be a mother, on a journey of discovery or rediscovery, or simply trying not to lose yourself in this motherhood thing, I invite you to join me. My prayer is that here you feel seen, heard, and most of all know that you are not alone.

I love you, mean it- Ja’Nelle Nichole
